Straight Title Robot Anime currently airs onCrunchyroll for FREE. Each episode lasts only 7-13 minutes and is 12 episodes long.

Oh Straight Title Robot Anime, where do I begin?

Straight Title Robot Anime  was the world's first CGI anime to be produced using MikuMikuDance and featured characters designed by Vocaloid box art artist KEI. Needless to say, it caught a ton of attention when it debuted in 2013. Every Vocaloid, UTAU and MMD fan was anxious to see the new show, which promised action and a deep story.

... Well... we came close.

Straight Title Robot Anime  takes place in a post apocalyptic future, in which humans have been eradicated from endless war. In their place are a series of Gundam rip-offs, who are still fighting because there is nobody left to turn them off.

But also left behind are three more human like robots, named Fuji, Kato and Mori, who want to discover the art of producing laughter and humor, so they can end the war (now in it's 7th millennium) and restore peace.

Fuji is the sweetheart of the trio who looks the most like Miku Hatsune. Kato is the serious, short haired librarian and ring leader, while Mori is the eccentric, most robotic member of the team.

Each episode features the girls studying Wikipedia-like archives of humor throughout the 20th century and trying too hard to re-create it. Most of the jokes fall flat, as the girls spend too much time explaining the joke.

Sometimes however, the girls will run a simulation on the Gundams, putting the mobile suits into hilarious situations. (The kissing scene is my personal favorite.) These segments are where the actual humor lies.

But marring what could have been a cute series is the final episode. If you don't want to be spoiled, just scroll past the white text below. If you want to know what happens, you can highlight the white text or watch the last episode on Crunchyroll.
The girls discover how to grant laughter to the Gundams, but as a result, bringing peace to the world causes all of the robots, including the girls, to die. Thus Earth becomes barren and lifeless.
It was bad enough to drag out most of the jokes, but the final episode ruins what was a show that had much potential to begin with. It's a shame considering that the premise was just fine and the character designs were interesting. But then, it was the first ever MMD series, and we all have to have a starting point somewhere.

    CGI Anime?

A medium which is still evolving is CGI-based anime, where the entire episode is all done in 3D models instead of traditional hand drawing. This is a category for shows that are 100% 3DCG, not to be confused with shows that blend hand-drawn "Anime Studio" animations with full computer graphics.
