MILPOM★ is set to air Fridays at 9:00 PM EST on Crunchyroll, but so far, only one episode has made air since September 4th. DAISUKI is also running a simulcast, but again, only one episode has been added. Additional videos are on BanDai Namco's official YouTube. Each episode is only 3 minutes long.
Recently, Crunchyroll added a new stop-motion series about a couple of girls, voiced by real-life fashion models Hikari Shiina and Ai Matsumoto, and singer Hikari Shiina. MILPOM, CACAO and SILKY, all with capitalized names, are three besties, who dress up as animals all year round, in what is theorized to be Harajuku. In each episode, the girls talk about boys, makeup, cosplay and partying, all while batting their gem-sticker eyes. .... And if you are beneath the age of 12, this sounds like an awesome show. If you are 13 and older, you're probably banging your head into a wall. MILPOM is overbearing and obnoxious. She is aggressive, boy-crazy, and while she plans get-togethers with her friends, she could just as easily plot their demise in a heartbeat. She will do whatever it takes to be popular or to get a boy's attention. CACAO is intelligent and quiet. She is set to bring a minimal amount of education into the few spots she has. In the debut episode, CACAO actually gives an accurate history of Halloween in under 30 seconds. SILKY is a bit flighty. She can get a boyfriend much easier than MILPOM, and comes across as that one friend you have that can't keep up in the conversation. The plot is paper-thin, which might work for a show that is three minutes long, but the episodes play out like your kid sister playing with Barbie or Monster High dolls. MILPOM has her own website, which is being run like a Tumblr by BanDai Namco's new children's television company. The goal is to have more episodes make air, and eventually, a doll line may be produced if enough people get involved. Take a gander at the pilot, and you'll have a better sense of what future episodes may hold: |

What even is this?Well it's not really an anime, it's not live action. It's from Japan. It feels like it's from Gumbasia but it tastes like Robot Chicken. Whatever it is, I'm watching it. Archives
